Thank you for letting us have Sophie from you last October. She is and has always been a joy to have around. We both agree we have never had such an easy puppy, she is happy, friendly to all, healthy and keeps us laughing with her antics.
You predicted 2 things when we came to pick her up. You said she would be a lot like her father, Anton, and you said she would be great friends with our GSD Edie. You were right on both counts! Looking at Anton’s pictures on the website Sophie looks like a female version of him. And since she came home Sophie has been Edie’s best friend and partner in crime. Where one is the other won’t be far behind.
Sophie has yet to meet anyone, person, dog or cat that she doesn’t like. Oddly though, everybody likes her too, even those who aren’t great dog lovers
Thank you both again for our lovely Sophie.

Hi Vicky, Just thought I’d update you on the news about Orla. As you know she has been with us for seven months now and is doing fantastically well. She has fallen into the life of being a pampered pooch with a lot of enthusiasm. She sits, lays down, shows us her belly, gives us her paw (with the help of treats of course) and is fully house trained. We take her to a local beauty spot where she loves to swim in the river and also the sea when we visit the coast. We will be introducing her to our caravan at the end of this month when we go off camping in Dorset with our son, daughter, and families, plus their two labradors.
Whenever we go out, she attracts a lot of attention from people who call her cute, beautiful, lovely - a lot of them think she is a pup! Of course, we think she is gorgeous too. As you may have gathered we are very pleased with her! Will try and send a photo on our next up-date.
Hope all is good with you. Do you remember us? It’s been a long time. We bought Penfold in 2005 and Sedge in 2008.
Both boys still with us. Penfold will be 13 in July and he’s really, really slowing up - but has all his marbles still and is as greedy as ever! Walks now are very slow affairs but he’s happy and I can’t imagine him not being there :
Sedge is fine but had an ear op. last year so is now completely deaf bless him. He’s ok part from a bit of arthritis
Just thought I’d keep you up to date with their progress. I still love looking at the pictures on your site. You have some very handsome Labs. ( but wouldn’t swop
my two for the world!!)
All the best,
Just to say Saffy is still with us and still a happy girl, she was born in Aug 2007 to Anna, her bothers being what we know Teddy and Monty, and sister Abbey and Daisy, I think she was one of eight but not quite sure. She will be 12 this year and hopefully still with us as we would be lost without her. She has walked 140 mls of the coastal path with me but sadly we were unable to complete it as it was getting too much for her.
We had Hulk our chocolate Labrador in December 2016, he was a Christmas present for my children. Victoria was such a great help, she kept with constant updates on the litter from when they were born in the October. She also allowed me to visit the litter more than once , in order to pick the right pup for us. Such a lovely lady, who is always there for help and advice when needed! Her dogs are absolutely beautiful and I am over the moon with our Hulk! He has such a fabulous temperament and everyone always comments on how beautiful he looks. Would highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a Labrador. I will be back in the future for a friend for Hulk! Honestly can not thank you enough for our baby, we wouldn't be without him now. He's made our lives so much more fun and colourful! He's done wonders for my boy (has autism). He's so loving and gentle, they are the best of friends.
Hello sorry for the lack of updates its been a busy year. Oona is everything and more than we could ever wish for in a pet she is calm, fun, loving and very obedient. She is the perfect addition to our family. (still loves sitting under the table ) haha
We got our black lab puppy (Diesel) in August 2016 from Widgerwood Labradors. After much research trying to find the right breader we were recommended by a few other breeders. As we live in Cornwall it was very hard to go and visit our puppy regular but Victoria sent us weekly updates and pictures on how he was doing. When we picked him up Victoria was so helpful and gave lots of advice. Diesel is such and hansom boy and everyone always comments on how beautiful he is. He is amazing around the children and loves people. He has got such a gentle and laid back temperament is a perfect addition to our family. Thank you so much!
We received our chocolate lab boy (Jake) from Widgerwood Labradors in March 2016. I travelled from London to see him and it was love at first sight. Vicky was extremely helpful during our first meeting and ever since. Jake is an extremely handsome boy with an excellent temperament. We live in Canada with him and we are frequently asked where we found such a beautiful boy. The importance of an excellent temperament cannot be understated. Jake is currently in obedience classes and while the other dogs (including labradors) are constantly barking or ignoring their owners, Jake is calm and attentive. We simply could not ask for a better dog.
Anita Wandzura ( Fraser )
When we were looking for our Lab we did a lot of research and we are soo glad we decided to get one from Widgerwood. Vicky and Denise were extremely helpful in giving us advice as this was our first ever dog, and have been helpful ever since.. They even looked after our Nero on our wedding day! Nero has grown up to be a stunning Lab and everyone comments on his looks and temperament. Anyone looking for a Labdrador look no further than Widgerwood you wont find better!
Dean and Lauren
Would just like to email u to tell U how fantastic you are. We have an amazing puppy called Daisy who is truly beautiful everyone comments and say how beautiful and well behaved she is. She is a true credit to u and her parents . Thank you so so much . Many thanks
Vicky was so helpful, we wanted a chocolate boy and I was able to reserve our lovely boy Vinnie as he was the last boy in the litter prior to making the 7 hour round trip to see him.
It was well worth the trip, Vinnie is now 7 months old and has been such a good puppy, he has settled in to our family so easily and has an amazing temperament.
I would highly recommend Widgerwood and will definitely be getting my next puppy from here.
Cookie was our 1st dog for the family and we received so much information from Victoria it was lovely to c a breeder so passionate about what they do and such a beautiful breed of dog to b proud of we luv cookie so much thank you for making our home complete and my daughters wish come true ur dogs are a real credit to u n I Wudnt hesitate in contacting you again if we could have another
After having grown up with Widgerwood Labradors by my side, when it came to choosing my own family pet there was no other option! Mum and dad have a black and yellow lab (Gus and Gabby) who both have such lovely, gentle, caring and adoring personalities – and I knew if we got a dog it had to have that same temperament. We got Alfie almost 3.5 years ago and he is the most delightful pet you could ever dream of finding – he is perfectly calm, loving, he’s wonderful around children (very gentle and just wanders around behind them!), silly and a little bit cheeky sometimes! I always say he has comical eyes, they are full-time puppy dog eyes! It’s because of his temperament that he fits into our lives perfectly and we take him absolutely everywhere with us – beach, moorland walks, Yorkshire breaks… he lives the dream doggy life! We are so happy with our Widgerwood Lab and would definitely recommend as they really truly care about their dogs for life, we still keep in touch now
We love Alfie so so much, he is perfect! When Darren announced he wanted a dog I told him Widgerwood Lab or nothing!!!

Vicky and Denise , it was like an mi5 operation to get bruiser to jersey! You were so very helpful, and flexible about his delivery.... He is a beautiful addition to our family, and is a credit to you both....

Our lovely dogs have settled in well. They are really content and happy with us. We love them to bits!

Hi Victoria, just wanted to say Bella has settled in really well, she has a lovely temperament and we are so happy to have her. Thank you for being so flexible about her arrival as it meant we had time to get ready for her properly. We will never forget your kindness. She is a wonderful addition to our family.

Hello Vicky and Denise - it was so lovely to meet you and all your lovely Labradors - what a happy home Kerra came from. Kerra is doing very well and a very happy bold puppy - we had a little howl the first night at 1.00 a.m and I let her out to wee
and then put her back into the Utility Room and she settled down. She is in there at night and during the day if we are out but she is with us in the house during the day and so far no accidents in the house at all. Simba wondered what had hit him
at first but now playing with her and so gentle - he even lets her take his favourite toys! She was scared the first time the telephone rang and left a message on the ansaphone and a bit worried when I had my favourite Classic FM music on but soon realised it was nothing nasty and carried on playing. She seems a very well adjusted little pup.
She is due for her check up tomorrow morning so will let you know how that goes.
Kindest regards to you both
Marcia and Paul
Hi Vicky & Denise,
Here’s a few snaps of our little man harvey. so glad we found you guys to get a beautiful mild mannered and very clever handsome black labrador, cant praise you high enough.,your advice was invaluable to us, many thanks again yours sincerely ,
Richard,Clare.Luke and Lois Swansea.
We thought that everybody might like to know how much we are enjoying life with Alfie and Hazel. Alfie - a black puppy from Ollie and Tarka - joined us in October 2014 and then when we took him back to visit Vicky and Denise in January,
Piper and Ollie had had a beautiful litter of chocolate and black pups...........
and when we left Hazel (a chocolate bitch) came with us! Having two very lively pups has certainly changed our quiet lives but we wouldn't be without them.
They are beautiful dogs and are outstandingly good natured -as all the Widgerwood dogs seem to be. Alfie has gained his Bronze Good Citizenship award at first go and is now working towards the silver. Hazel being 3 months
younger is working for her bronze. They both enjoy training classes and are very good with the other dogs.
Vicky and Denise are very friendly and helpful and the help carries on long after you have bought the pup. We have discovered they are just the other end of a phone line when you need advice!! Finally................if we had a bigger house we would be back to Widgerwood for another Labrador, they are gorgeous.

I have been looking for a while for not only a nice Labrador, but breeders who really care about their dogs, i found both a gorgeous chocolate girl and the loveliest breeders possible, so kind and caring, their dogs are a true credit to them.
Aka mummy's Vicky and Denise.
Thank you SO much, you have brought such joy to our lives in the name of Alex and Ryan! Our two boys are the most loving, intelligent,
(all be it sometimes a tad dippy) caring dogs. They are such a huge part of our family. Thanks you so much for all the help
in the early days too, they have developed into fantastic loyal boys. Lots of love,
Rhian, Daryl, Alex and Ryan Sleep xxxxx
I had a chocolate Labrador from Vicky and Denise a few months ago and she has settled beautifully. She is great company and a wonderful dog. Vicky & Denise have been fantastic also, always ready on the phone for any worries or queries I had.
I'm glad I decided to have a labrador from Widgerwood as they are great breeders.
Thanks Vicky and Denise!
Lovely dogs, Great website, very friendly and helpfull breeders, and great that i found Widgerwood on Facebook
Ruby came to live with us two months ago and what a delight she is proving to be! She is the perfect canine companion: so sweet natured, biddable, calm yet always happy to play. Within days she took to a lead, travelling on buses and coping so
well with all the new experiences she is being introduced to on a daily basis. Ruby is very bright and learns quickly. It is such a pleasure to have such a lovely dog who has settled so well into our human and animal family. The joy I receive
from her company cannot be underestimated. I love walking and having Ruby with me increases the pleasure a hundred fold. However, it can be a bit 'stop and start' at times as so many people want to pet her on our travels! Everyday we're out
walking along the beach, over the cliff paths or through the parks, whatever the weather, having fun. I did a lot of research when I began to think about owning a dog again after a 12 year gap and it has paid off. Vicky and Denise can be justifiably proud of their achievements in breeding wonderful Labradors. If you are wanting to share your life with a dog, go for the best dog of all, a Lab, and for the best Labs, go to Vicky and Denise.
I have been looking for a Labrador puppy, on searching through all the websites, i came across Widgerwood Labs, i clicked on the link
2 1/2 hours later i had looked at every page, i felt knew Denise and Vicky, personally , as it was too late to ring them , i rang the next morning, just to enquire if they had a litter, i spoke with Vicky, i asked loads of questions, and she answered all my questions, i wanted to go and meet them and their dogs, i made an appoinitment for the 7th of July, i met Vicky, she was amazing, i met all the dogs, i saw them running free in their fields, i have booked my puppy, and i will wait as long as it takes. i would like to thank Vicky & Denise for being so helpful and restoring my belief that there are decent Labradors Breeders out there. If any one is looking for a Labrador puppy make sure you go to Widgerwoods, they are brilliant >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Alexia is just over 12 months and has been with us now for one month. I cannot say how pleased we are to have such a beautiful black labrador. Our Vet paid tribute to Victoria and Denise for the excellent work they do. Alexia is in excellent condition and everyone has fallen in love with her. I say without reservation that if you are thinking of getting a dog, Widgerwood Breeders must be your first call if you want the best.

Just thought i would say, this is a fabulous website, so much thought has gone into the making of it, i thought they are to good to be true, how wrong i was. I have been looking for a Labrador puppy for ages after losing our old Black boy, i went and met Denise & Vicky, i was so impressed, their dogs are better in real life!!!, they are so caring Very understanding people, i went looking for a Black, but fell in Love with a Chocolate dog,
I could not take my eyes off him, He is the totally best dog i have ever had, and he is all mine..!!! I cannot thank Denise & Vicky for letting me have him, If you are looking for a Labrador Look No Further Get a Widgerwood baby, their knowledge about their dogs is truly amazing.

My father bought an older dog from you, best thing he has ever done, he is so full of praise, for you as breeders, and i have to agree you have wonderful dogs, and you give the best advice.
Sophie Hodge Bridgend
We have been discussing what to do about Logan. Lindsay is still not sure that he is ready as he still misses Zena although since we lost Zena he has bonded even more closely with Alice who is a real sweetie and pretty much in her prime at the moment. This is like adopting a child for us so it is really important for us to make sure that we get it right. We really appreciate you thinking of us for two such fantastic looking dogs and will let you know what we decide to do as soon as we can.
Having said all that we do trust your judgement when it comes to dogs which was spot on when you choose Alice for us and so we would like to give Logan a chance to see if he is able to fit in with our way of life which, from what you say in your e mails, would really suit him. We took Logan with Alice to make a PAT dog visit to Bridge House on Saturday and he was brilliant. Everybody loved him and he loved all the attention that he received. He should pass the test with flying colours and we will enter him for it as soon as we are able to.
I don't know whether you know that you have bred a budding footballer. He is off as soon as he sees a football so we have to pop him on the lead when a match is being played or else he ends up in the thick of it. I bought him his own football from the Olympic shop for him to play with in the garden and have attached a photo of him with it.
Christine & Lindsay
Oscar (once Trevor) is fantastic. We all love him to pieces, he’s such a brilliant dog. Who says Labradors chew everything, he hasn’t touched a single bit of furniture from the day we had him, think we must have given him enough toys to play with!
He’s so obedient but so full of life, mad as a box of frogs mind!!! LOL!!!
I’ve attached a few photos of him for you to see. As you can see he opens his own Christmas pressies !!!! Can’t believe he’s 3 years old now, time really does fly! Speak soon,
Hi Vicky and Denise
Welcome back to the land where the sun disappears. We will be over your way tomorrow - will you be free for a Penny visit in the afternoon?

Hi there, I have just been looking at your fab website, i just had to go from page to page, to look at your wonderful dogs, what a pleasure to read all about about them and what stunners you have. Keep up the brilliant work you are doing.

Hello ,I just wanted to say that you have a wonderful website, very imformative, your dogs are GORGEOUS i enjoyed every page their music is brilliant, this is the best Labrador site i have ever come across. thank you so much for sharing.
Hi Both, just had a look at your wonderful website, though labs are not my breed, I was very impressed with your lovely dogs and truly brilliant site, you must be particularly proud of your pups that have gone on to be dogs for the disabled, very well done, keep up the excellent work and hope you truly enjoy your new life,
wherever you are in the world. Best regards,
Holzern Bernese and Irish Wolfhounds
Hi Vicky and Denise,
Thank you for the lovely Christmas e-card. Thought I’d just update you again on the lovely Dexter (who is currently asleep on his bed next to me!) We had a lot of snow the other week and he absolutely loved it – he was bounding around like Tigger every time he went outside. It’s pretty much all gone now and he’s enjoyed re-discovering everything (leaves, floor, etc) that was hidden underneath.
He is still being admired everywhere we go – everyone thinks he is an exceptionally handsome boy and that we are lucky to have him – and we agree.
Looking forward to Christmas with him – he will be visiting the seaside for the very first time! Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and will update you again soon
Dear Vicky and Denise, Hope you and dogs are all well? I just had a look at your site and realised you have moved. Your views look lovely! I was going to send you a Christmas card but now you have moved I don't know your address.
Bliss and Gina are still the love of my life and are THE best dogs in the world!!! Beautiful, well behaved and warmly cuddly when sitting on your lap watching the telly, especially in the cold. Bliss is in season at the moment, so we are avoiding boys, but we have some
great walks to do that in Dorset. We have a new member of the family the girls are very good with it's a stray chicken I found in the middle of nowhere. It was a chick only a couple of weeks old and had been hit by a car (I think) as it had oil and black all over
it's back. It can't see too well and I think it's going to be a cock bird so not sure what will do with it yet but I couldn't leave it on the road. The girls are very good with it particularly as it's nearly as tall as Gina! Anyway Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all. Warm regards
from Louise and David Baker and Gina and Bliss.
I have been looking at all the sites for a Labrador puppy, when i came across your site, what an experience, your dogs are wonderful, and your puppy pictures are amazing, which made me look through the whole site, Oh my god, i enjoyed every page...all i can say is this is one of the best websites i have ever come across.... Brilliant !!!
Karen Roberts, Swansea
Hi Vicky and Denise
We were very proud of Alice tonight as she passed the Bronze Kennel Club Good Citizen Award and went straight on to do the Silver test that she passed on the same night so we have now got two certificates and rosettes to show off . We are planning to start the Gold course with her in October.
We will take some photos and send them to you.
Christine and Lindsay and Alice and Zena
Hi Vickie,I love your website and all the girls and boys look so happy. I am the proud owner of Poacher who loved you and your doggie girls and boys and human girls and boys to bits! Well done a lovely tribute to my lovely boy-thank you! Thank you so much for training him for me. I love it when you come and watch me in the ring, Poacher knows that you are there and stands like a rock.
I would never have imagined me showing him, thank you so much for all your help.Flynn our baby now 3 is so like Poacher in many ways but not quite the same gentleman yet.
Jennie Willcock Bates
Hi Denise and Vicky,
Just sending you an update on our chocolate lab puppy. Hes 17 and a half weeks now. He is a fantastic energetic little pup who loves exploring!
He's settled in really well, we have crated him as you recommended and he stays there all night until we get up at 7:30. We are taking him to puppy classes every week, he loves meeting people an other puppies/ dogs, he gets very excited! The trainers are very impressed with him, he learns so quickly!
Aysha is settling in well and has made friends with Charlie my friends elderly black lab, which makes life easy as we look after each others dogs when we are away.
She has had her first lot of jabs and have spoken to the vet about spaying which we will do after the next set of jabs which are next week. We had a trip to the seaside on Saturday and were delighted in the change from the walking nicely to heel on all the woodland paths with lots of stops to sniff to a playful dog chasing and retreaving balls. She didn't venture in to the sea but I can't blame her for that, the North Sea off the coast of Northumberland must be freezing! She is excellent in the car, even on long trips like that one.
Hope the move went well. I can't imagine what a logistical nightmare it must have been.
Your site is a pleasure to view, lovely looking dogs.
Penny a facebook friend
Great dogs lovely site!!
Hi Vicky and Denise,
Hope you and the dogs are all doing well! Dexter has settled in really well here and the time’s flown – I can’t remember now what it was like without him here. He’s now had all his vaccs (he was really well behaved at the vet both times) and is enjoying being able to go on short walks and meet other dogs. He’s been out on pavements, footpaths, woods, fields and parks and loved them all! He’s very friendly – he wants to say hello to everyone he passes – and most of them want to
say hello to him too because he’s so cute (I have lost count of the Andrex puppy comments we’ve had!). He’s growing and putting on weight well (though not too much!) and you can really see now what a handsome boy he’s going to be. He’s still fairly laid back (although he does have his mad puppy moments). Michelle, who looks after him when I’m at work, says he is the calmest lab puppy she’s ever met. He fits in really well with our family – Robin loves him and had learnt his name within a day. Thank you so much for helping us to choose the right dog for us – he’s fab and we love having him. We’ll keep you updated with how he is including piccies once we’ve managed to sort some out onto the computer!
Alison, Mark & Robin
Dear Vicky & Denise
We wanted to let u know that despite your very kind offer, both Anna and my mum are keen to look after Ella at home when we're away in a couple of weeks - but thank you both for offering to have her back. Ella has been an absolute joy - she gets so much attention from everyone we meet on our walks, and seems to be really happy and settled at home. She's growing quickly but still has her moments of mad playfulness - and has more toys than a nursery would have! We're all so delighted with her - thank you both for letting us take her.
Niall & Jeanette
Just to let you know Freddie is settling really well - he is full of fun and loves Bethan and will follow her everywhere. He even slept all through the night last night which pleased me!!!The rest of the family adore him; he is proving a real little character and likes nothing better than to play in the garden.
We are lucky people who now own Willow's daughter, Yasmin (now called Molly). She is a complete delight and much admired wherever we go. She is kind, loving and very obedient, getting on well with all humans and dogs. We got her at 2 years old but she settled so well, I have had labs for the last 34 years and would recommend anybody who wants a lab to approach Widgerwood.
Well done !!!! Georgia. happy birthday.
Have a great Birthday Georgia!!!
Congratulations to Georgia for becoming a teenager.
All our love Rebecca Davis
Hello Vicky & Denise and Georgia Hope that she had a great day, what a lovely girl,
Samantha Parry and family.
Hello Vicky and Denise,
Just want to say a really big thank you for adding to our family with your adorable Ella. Despite a very long journey home due to M4 problems, she travelled brilliantly - but was understandably ravenous when we got home.
She is so biddable and has made herself instantly at home.
She passed her veterinary examinations with no problems - and even agreed to the slightly ignominious procedure of z bath in the Belfast sink - filling it nicely!
We feel enriched and really blessed.
Niall and Jeanette Brent Knoll
Thank you so much for showing us your gorgeous dogs, your website does not lie, we were very impressed, we cannot wait to have our new baby, we are very happy to tell everyone about you and your dogs. Kingston is our favourite,
Caroline and family
Hey Just an update on Daisy, she’s doing really well. She’s such a funny little dog, and so lovely. I’m enjoying her immensely. We went to the beach in south Devon last weekend, she loves the sea. She was doing huge circles on beach going in and out of the sea. So funny. Took her to pets at home the other day to go and get some stuff and it took us ages to get around because everyone kept stopping to touch her and say what a lovely dog she is.
Jo and Daisy
Dylan grew so much just in the first week.. He is an absolutely bundle of energy. Loves playing in the garden and has gone for his first walk (booster jab completed last Wednesday) this week. This took some time as we bumped into lots of people I knew and they all had to have a fuss, which he loves!!.
The vet thought he was totally gorgeous and would be very easy to train. He was great at the vets, not frightened at all. I did come armed with lots of treats, which he ate. Now that we can take him out we will be taking him to puppy socialisation classes. Our next door neighbour (Poppy who came with us to pick him up) have a spaniel and friends over the road have a retriever so he has met a few already. I think the training classes are for me not him as I have forgotten how to do it.
We absolutely adore him, as you can probably tell. He has a very gentle temperament and is very cuddly. We will be down to my dad's in the summer and would love to come by and visit if this is ok?
I would just like to comment on your website, this is one of the best site i have come across, full of information about your dogs, you made us feel so special when we came to see your babies, we were so impressed with the puppy room, and your babies are wonderful, your dogs are gorgeous, they really are a credit to you. To see your girls running total free in the fields was great we have taken so lovely pictures to treasure until we come again to take our baby home. We would gladly recommend you (Widgerwood ) to anyone looking for a puppy.
Katy and the girls
Thanks so much for yet another fantastic, loving, bright eyed intelligent boy. Ryan has settled in so well it's as if he was born here! Loving his life here in Melin Court with his equally gorgeous big brother, Alex (son of Chaos, formerly known as Alfie...)
The boys are soul mates, and spend so much time together and get very upset when I part them for "night nights". Ryan has mastered commands, "sit" "paw" and the best one of all, "tickle belly" when he promptly lies on his back and waits for his tickles. He sleeps through the night, is fully house trained and loves his lead. He has had small walks but gets so annoyed when his brother is allowed to swim in the river, but he has to watch and just paddle.
I can't begin to say how happy he has made our home. Our four kids adore him and we are now a complete family.
Thanks so so much xxxxx Rhian Daryl Emily Sam Lucy and Jo
What a wonderful site, your labs are a credit to you, we were totally amazed meeting you both and your dogs, we have never seen such happy dogs, your kennels are well organised , and a so well thought out, to see all the girls running free and playing in the fields was great, your puppies were gorgeous, and raising your babies in the house really appealed to us. Kingston was a real hit with us, what a super dog, and so gentle, we cannot wait to have our baby home.
Thank you very much for showing us your lovely dogs, we could have taking them all home with us. The children thought your puppy room was great, and loved having all the cuddle from the puppies, Please make sure that we are on your list for a black boy, ( or can we please have Ollie )
Lisa Mark & the family Surrey
Little Ollie (Trevor) is doing well. Has gained half his body weight in the first week and is settling in with Louis and Oscar. We’ll keep you updated. Happy xmas!!!
Nigel & Sue
Milly too is going to sit by the back door when wanting to go out to toilet - quite how she does this i don’t know! We have started her on walking round the garden on her lead which so far is going well, Milly is a clever girl!! She is sleeping through the night and certainly lets us know when it is breakfast time. The little snow we have had hasn’t caused her any problems at all, just something else to explore
The firm NO works well - thank you!! Milly seems to have noticeably grown over the last few days and goes from a mad hour to lots of sleep .Just a couple of questions today - what sort of weight is ideal for age? And also how much time do they spend sleeping??
Hi Vicky Realised I have had Charlie 5 years today, the time has just flown, best thing I ever did, just love her. Feel a bit guilty as now have to work at the office rather than at home, but come home every lunch time and have her walked three times a week just to break her day up. Think she actually likes it so she can just snooze the day away. Have to say she is a bit on the lazy side, when I say "walk" no reaction, if I say "Biscuit" a very different reaction!!
When we lived in Cyprus she would even take herself off to visit a neighbour "Biscuit Ray" only time she has left my side. Real panic the first time it happened, there she was having biscuits on the lawn with Ray.
Gracie is settling in very well in her new home. She is so well behaved and seems very confident and brave!! I have attached a couple of pic’s taken yesterday. I hope you can open them. She went to the vets this morning and was given a 'clear bill of health' and will have her first vaccinations next week. Thank you for a beautiful puppy!!
Best wishes, Vic & Jo
Thank you very much for our electronic card. It was lovely. Well our little angel 'Poppy' is now almost 5 months old, and we can't believe how quickly she is growing. It only seems like yesterday that she was a small pup. She is wonderful company for both of us, and we certainly do a lot more walking now than we did before; which is not a bad thing. We are certainly glad that we have her, and the children think that she is fantastic.
There are some pictures attached for you to see what she looks like now. Have a wonderful Xmas and a Happy New Year.
Baden and Christine.
Hi Vicky & Denise
Just a few more pictures for you to keep in touch with Anna & Silas. They are absolutely gorgeous and have settled in seamlessly, We are taking 6 of our 10 dogs (2 of which will be Silas and Anna) to Cornwall in November. We'll have a week of long beach walks, pub grub and log fires. I think the dogs will have a great time. Hope all is going well for you...
Delighted with Saffy's photos on your website and yes she is a proper madam, very strong willed and I have had to make her a proper seat in between us in the motor home as I would have lost my seat, she insists on being on her throne for the whole journey and takes great interest in everything. She is well travelled and has a high mileage already. When we had her she fitted in the well in the dashboard and as she grew would insist on being up front and would even interfere with the driving by standing on her hind legs with paws on steering wheel to see out so she had to have her own seat, as you can see on the photo she still changes gears.
Love Steve, Diana and Saffy.
Hello Vicky, long time no see, thanks for letting me go to my new human pets they seem to be looking after me ok ,lots of food loves and kisses and plenty of games and walks, they even taught me use this computer, clever aren’t i. Here’s a couple of photos i made them take especially for you. I think you would agree i am turning into a rather handsome chap. If we can do any thing to help give me a shout and i'll tell the grey haired fella , i can generally get him to do most things for me. PS give my love to mum and dad.

Hi Ladies Just a quick note to say what a beautiful and wonderfully behaved little boy we have..He cried for only 10 minutes.
last night before sleeping all night and didn't wee or pooh all night. He's a joy to own already and a credit to the pair of you. The girls absolutely adore him and he adores them too, it's like we've had him years. Thank you so much for letting us have him.
Sarah, Dave, India, Madison and Bumble xx
Well I hate to tell you this but it's like he's always been here!!!!!!
He slept in the foot well at my feet all the way home, has been fed and watered and runs round the garden like a nutter. He loves the girls and is now fast asleep and snoring by the oven, even though his den is up and running....... Oh and he's had 2 wee’s and a pooh in the back garden. He's absolutely gorgeous and seems to love Daddy more than Mummy, not happy about that :-)
Will send pics soon.

Hello Widgerwood. I would just like to say a big thank you for cheering up my mother so much, one of your dogs comes to visit the elderly home, my mother is now living in, after becoming too ill to stay in her own home, she looks forward to seeing Sadie whenever she visits. Which is now every other week, it has really opened up her life, after losing so much.

Vicky and Denise, She has just completed her first advanced obedience course and we are waiting for the next one to start. She is very intelligent.!!!
Alice is now old enough to be a PAT dog and has got her Pets as Therapy assessment next week. We will let you know how she gets on. Christine and Lindsay (and a lick from Alice and Zena)
Hello, How are you all and the pack?
We are up to nine dogs now and Anna is really happy and playing loads. She goes for a swim in the river every day and loves fetching balls. She interacts with all of the pack and she has pride of place each night on her own bed.

Vicky & Denise,
We fully understand what you are going through, Jo had to re-home two dogs when she met me - feel terrible about that now as I could never give up any of the ones we have now.
From the instant we got Silas home we knew we would adore him, everything about him, his looks, his beautiful smile, his wonderful nature makes us feel both humbled and privileged to be allowed to have him. He is having the most wonderful time with Anna and indeed all the dogs have accepted him easily.
Please rest assured that he will be completely loved by us and will we send pictures soon.
Keep in touch and hope all is going well?
Regards Jo & Bob
Hi Girls , Alfie is rapidly approaching 6 months old - so as promised, here's an update on how he's doing, what he's been up to and also some pic’s that so that you can see him in action...............Alfie is in rude health, full of energy and always ready to play with Charlie our 15mth old chocolate lab. He's very cute and is going to be a very handsome dog... I've never seen an animal eat so quickly - he can Hoover up his meals in nano-seconds, I've got him trained on the basics - he's a quick learner and seems to enjoy putting his intelligence to work in the mischief department - the current favourite trick being popping the bin lid in the kitchen and sorting the non edible contents from the edible - as you know, a Labs definition of edible is pretty wide ranging so I've taken to putting the bin out of harms way at night.
Hello Vicki and Denise,
Hope you are all well. It's lovely weather down here in Somerset at the moment and the bluebells look stunning.
Gina and Bliss are both really well and are both totally gorgeous. Now they are both going to be 3 this year!! (it seems only a moment ago Bliss was tiny) we are embarking on tooth cleaning lessons - not cos they have dirty teeth but as they get older I think its a good idea - Bliss loves it but Gina is a little more reserved about the idea.
They both have settled to having hens in the garden really well and are both really good with them although the chickens are fenced off for safety. Bliss is really good at stealing eggs if you put them down for a moment to do something but has never cracked one yet - when she does I suspect she will soon learn they are tasty!
They are both absolutely super and we love them to bits. Warmest regards to all at Widgerwood from
Louise, Gina and Bliss.
I bumped into a lady last week who has a dog from you (he is a stunner) think she said Henry but i meet That many dogs I get confused by their names. Anyway he had a great time playing with my dogs and we Had a lovely chat. She said there is a photo of him on the beach on your website
All the best for Christmas and the New Year
Hope you are well
Hi! This is the little girl who picked Chip up on my Birthday, Paul's daughter, Billie. I just wanted to tell u that Chip is really growing, he looks a lot like Moose! I was wondering if when we come up I could stroke Moose? He is really like Chip, Chip's really funny, He is a bit naughty, like he pulls on the lead a bit, but we are teaching him. He can 'Lie Down', 'Sit' 'Paw' and he is sort of getting the hang of 'Other Paw'. I look at your website all the time. I think your bassets are really cute, Lace is really cute too. I will have to try send you some pictures of Chip, I will ask my Dad to help me lol.
Billie - Jo Matthews
Silk has really settled in with our way of life and thoroughly enjoys her morning walks especially at the weekend when they tend to last a couple of hours each day. She responds well to the whistle I use and enjoys retrieving her ball and has learnt to search for it when I ask her to.
She is maturing well and each day she looks more and more like her Dad. She is very fit and healthy and I watch her diet as I do with Rio. She does make us laugh. One minute she is a Princess next she is a bulldozer!
Well Vicky and Denise can we The Dixon's wish you both, your families and very importantly all your charges a Merry Christmas and Happy & Healthy New Year.

Dear Denise and Vicky
Congratulations on Alice's brother Kingston's success on his first time out in the show ring. We will be interested to see how Whoopie gets on. Alice is still doing well and is growing up fast. She is very intelligent and doing well with her dog training classes at which she has nearly completed the intermediate course.

Hi Girls, Happy Halloween and all that. How are you all? Just a line to say what a really gorgeous and beautiful doggy we have and what a fabulous job you have done. Rollo has really brought a special love into our home and we all adore him. So far, people we meet on our walks can't believe how good he is at obeying our commands as he so young. He has never soiled in his cage or in our home but barks to tell us he wants to go out.

Well that's a week now since Olive joined our gang and I have to say we have all fallen in love with her.
She has settled in really well and is getting on great with Molly our other Lab.
She got a full bill of health from the vets. She is being really good at night also. For the last 3 nights she has slept right through, which is fab.
I have taken hundreds of pics but yet to download them! As soon as I have
done I will send you some updated pics.
I am an avid fan of this web site, i have spoken to Vicky many times about having a new baby, i have recently lost my older Lab, i am not ready to commit myself to a new puppy, but when i do this will be the kennel i will come to. They breed beautiful dogs, and they also care about their new puppy owners not many do. thank you for all your help
We became the owners of a Widgerwood baby (although she was 2 when we got her because we wanted an older dog) and are so happy with our girl. She settled straight away and is just a delight. I would, recommend these labs to anyone and I have had labs for over 30 years.
Sorry it's took so long to give you guys an update. We brought Bertie home just before Christmas. We just want to say a massive thank you for him, Harry our 3yr old has down syndrome and Bertie was for him. For such a young dog he has so much patience and is absolutely amazing with the kids. Harry climbs all over him and pulls his tail and Bertie just stays still and let's him. What made me write today is that last night Harry was very naughty and hit and tried to kick Bertie which he got a good telling off for but Bertie was a star, he didn't react at all and didn't even walk away from him. His temperament is down to you guys and your breeding. Thank you so much for our amazing boy. He is a credit to your breeding programme and I have recommended you to a friend who has a disabled daughter. Will update again as he gets older.
